Black Dog Hunting is a nonprofit (501c3) whose mission is to connect and heal Military Veterans through the sport of waterfowl hunting while providing an environment of peer-based mentoring and counseling.  We do this across the country with a focus on mental health, providing once in a lifetime

peer-based experiences in the outdoors.

Veteran Waterfowl Program

Through incredible five-stare partner outfitters we execute multi-day trips with a focus on connecting Veterans with their peers. Waterfowl hunting provides the opportunity for Veterans to hunt migratory birds through four distinct flyways. Throughout North America the Pacific, Central, Mississippi, and Atlantic flyways bring migratory birds like ducks and geese down from far northern grounds to warmer climates in the winter. The season typically runs from September through February with specific birds targeted throughout the season based on their individual migration patterns.

SOCIAL Program

Our Social Program fills the gap through the "off season" and centers around Waterfowl events such as festivals, feasts, and fundraisers where we can support and introduce large groups of Veterans to the Waterfowl community. We partner with both national and local organizations to provide Veterans access to these events year round.

We created a nonprofit whose mission is to connect and heal Veterans through the outdoors, and we strive to make an impact with Veterans across the entire nation through positive outdoor experiences while surrounded by fellow Veterans from all eras of service.
